Optimization of Process Parameters for Injection Moulding of Nylon6/SiC and Nylon6/B4C Polymer Matrix Composites

In this research study, the mechanical properties of several Polymer matrix composites are investigated. These multi-phase materials in which reinforcing properly mixed with a polymer matrix. More precisely, Nylon 6 reinforced 5, 15 and 25 wt. % silicon carbide (SiC) boron (B4C), prepared by means an injection moulding process at three different pressures considered. Specific attention is paid to tensile impact strength these composites. The Taguchi technique used optimize parameters such as reinforcement material, its percentage pressure. It observed that specimens 5% SiC 80 MPa pressure display better similarly specimen B4C 90 have superior strength.
